Why is Cover Design So Important?
Your cover is the first thing a reader sees, and often the only thing that determines whether they pick up your book or scroll past it. In a crowded marketplace of millions of titles, a professional, genre-appropriate cover isn’t optional. It’s essential.
With over 20 years of design experience and a deep understanding of what makes books sell, I create covers that don’t just look beautiful. They work.
What I Offer
Custom Cover Design Every cover I create is built from scratch, specifically for your book and your vision. I don’t work from templates. I research your genre, your audience, and your competition to make sure your cover feels like it belongs—and stands out—on the shelf next to traditionally published titles.
Print & eBook Covers Your cover needs to work in multiple formats—as a full wraparound print cover with front, spine, and back, and as a standalone front cover for digital storefronts. I deliver both, optimized for each use.
Series Cover Design Consistency across a series is critical for author branding and reader recognition. Whether you’re launching a new series or refreshing an existing one, I maintain cohesive design across every volume so your series looks intentional and professional.
Cover Redesigns Sometimes an existing cover just isn’t working. Whether your book has been out for a while and needs a refresh, or you’ve taken over a project from another designer, I can assess what isn’t connecting and create something that better represents your work and your market.
3D Mockups I provide 3D mockup images showing how your book will look as a finished physical product, perfect for marketing materials, social media, and author websites.
Promotional Materials Once your cover is complete, I can extend the design into bookmarks, author banners, social media graphics, business cards, and other marketing materials that keep your branding consistent.
Why Choose Me?
Personal Attention I work with you one-on-one, not through a design mill. Your project gets my full focus, and you always know exactly who you’re working with.
Industry Expertise I understand the technical requirements of IngramSpark, KDP, MCRL, Lulu, Draft2Digital, and other platforms inside and out. Your files will be built to spec from the start, and if any issues arise during upload or printing, I’m here to fix them.
No Packages or Boxes I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all pricing. Every project is quoted individually based on your specific needs, your timeline, and your goals. You’re not paying for services you don’t need.
Flexibility Life happens, and publishing timelines shift. I accommodate your schedule whenever possible, whether that means slowing down, speeding up, or putting a project on hold.
Ongoing Partnership Many of my clients have worked with me across multiple books over many years. I cultivate lasting relationships and stay available long after your project is complete—for questions, updates, and whatever your next book brings.
Specialty Cover Experience From illustrated children’s book covers where text and art must work in perfect harmony, to dust jackets for hardcovers, to series covers requiring strict consistency across multiple volumes. I’ve handled it all. Complex, unusual, and challenging cover projects are welcome here.
